Understand your Overview metrics

Use the dashboard Overview to see project progress, upcoming work, team participation, and the tasks that need attention first.

What the Overview shows

The Overview is a quick health check for the boards and tasks you can currently see in your selected workspace. It uses the same task data as your boards, so updating a task changes the dashboard metrics as well.

Cancelled tasks are excluded from task totals. Completed tasks remain included so the completion percentage reflects the work the team has finished.

  • Total boards: every visible board in the current workspace
  • Active and completed boards: board status counts
  • Open tasks: tasks that are not completed or cancelled
  • Completion: completed tasks as a percentage of non-cancelled tasks
  • Overdue: open tasks whose due date has passed
  • Due this week: open tasks due between today and the next seven days
  • Contributors: people assigned to active tasks

Use Needs attention to choose what to do next

Needs attention surfaces the smaller signals that can slow a project down. Delayed tasks may need a decision or a new plan. Awaiting review tasks need an approver. Unassigned tasks need a clear owner before they can move reliably.

My open tasks is your personal starting point. Select it to move from the dashboard into the work assigned to you, then use the task filters to narrow by status, priority, board, or due date.

  • Resolve delayed work before adding more tasks
  • Assign an owner to important unassigned work
  • Review tasks waiting for approval during check-ins
  • Start with overdue work, then review the coming week

Read the progress overview correctly

The progress bar compares completed tasks with all non-cancelled tasks in the selected workspace. A high percentage can still hide risk if important tasks are overdue, delayed, or waiting for review, so read the progress bar together with Needs attention.

If the numbers look wrong, check the selected workspace, task status, due dates, and owners. The dashboard cannot count information that has not been added to the board yet.

Tip: Review the Overview at the start of a planning session, then update the board as decisions are made. The dashboard is most useful when it reflects the current plan.

A simple weekly review rhythm

Open the Overview before your weekly check-in. Note overdue and delayed tasks, confirm that the coming week has owners, and look for work waiting on a review. After the meeting, update statuses, dates, owners, and comments so the next review starts with a reliable picture.

  • Check completion and open task counts
  • Review overdue, delayed, and unassigned work
  • Confirm the next seven days have owners
  • Record decisions in the related task comments
